Cozy Fall Throws

9.7.12

While I may not be the biggest fan of fall, there’s one thing I do love about it: the chunky, cozy, make-you-want-to-cuddle throws. I’ve been on the search for a super soft version for our new place, and of course, the ones I like most come with a price tag as hefty as their weave. So I’ve added some good secondary options below to keep you toasty on all those chilly autumn nights.

1. Available in a multitude of weaves and three colors — grey, ivory and camelSofia Cashmere’s throws are the crème de la crème. For an alternative, try the Gump’s leggo or cable knit throwsboth on sale — Pottery Barn’s cable knit throw or Brook Farm General Store’s cable knit throw.

2. Nordstrom’s tasseled fall throw comes with an added benefit: it’s machine washable. For a similar look try West Elm’s chunky tassel throw, William-Sonoma Home’s chunky herringbone cotton throw or Pottery Barn’s Austin Throw. Or for a luxury option, try Sefte’ maya boucle throw.

3. The alpaca throwsavailable in both plaids and solids — from Lands Down Under are a nice switch-up from the traditional sweater style fall throws.

4. Calypso St. Barth’s clouds throw is a nubby, fluffy dream. For a barely close second, try William-Sonoma Home’s chunky basketweave cotton throw.

5. The quintessential fall blanket, Pendleton’s plaid alpaca throw promises to keep you warmer than wool. For other plaid options, try Crate & Barrel’s mateo plaid alpaca throw, Pfeifer Studio’s cuddle blanket or one of Pendleton’s wool throws.

6. Gump’s ziggy throwon sale — gives fall’s quintessential rustic look a graphic punch. For a simple striped version try Garnet Hill’s Lorenzo Wool Throw.
